What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I was taught that when I teach someone, I am learning the things I teach. As a student, continuous learning is crucial and thus being a tutor will help me reinforce my knowledge by letting me review what I have learnt with my student. I never think of myself as a tutor of my student, but a study buddy. They can pick up what I lack, while I am tutoring them. Finally, the best moments when tutoring someone, in my opinion, is to see them achieve outstanding results. I felt proud and satisfied, and I crave for more of such emotions.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I cannot describe myself as a tutor, but my students can.
They told me I am extremely patient, because I have to cope with their barrage of questions after I explain something.
They told me I am creative, because I usually think of various ways to explain one thing, so that they could understand the concept.
They told me I am organized, because I always have time for them when they need me.
If my students have said so, the qualities above, in my opinion, are my finest and most highlighted qualities as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Responsibility is the first word that comes to my mind.
I come from Vietnam, and I have seen very few Australian students who require a tutor, comparing to Vietnamese students. If they hire a tutor, they must have a need to improve their academic performance. Hence, a tutor needs to be responsible for them to achieve a better result.
