What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy getting to share my hard earned insights with others. I find that many 'difficult' concepts can actually be explained very simply- I like saving the person I am teaching the struggle that results from poor explanation.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Simplifying topics
Picking appropriate areas to focus on
Building up intuition
Easy to follow communication
Patience
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
-Put the unknown in terms of the known, not the unknown in terms of the unknown.
-Building intuition is very important because it allows one to more clearly visualise the problem in their own mind and turns a problem from a random process into a systematic and logical one.
-Make the process of learning a new topic feel achievable the entire time

About Liam
My School Experience
I will be graduating from the University of Melbouren in June 2026 with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in mathematical economics. I am in my third year of and have received a distinction grade or better in uni level calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics courses, among numerous economics and commerce subjects.
My Tutoring Philosophy
Conceptual understanding is of fundamental importance - without understanding the concept, thinking is rigid and application is limited.
New ideas should be taught in terms of old ideas - when starting to learn a second language it is always taught in terms of the first language - math should be taught no differently.
Practice makes perfect - conceptual understanding is essential but practice is what increases quickness and reduces careless errors which cost marks!
