What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
My favourite part of tutoring is watching the students build up the confidence to attempt challenging questions they once struggled with. Even if they were unable to complete the question the pride that comes with knowing I’ve helped them come so far along makes tutoring meaningful.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths come from my ability to approach problems and concepts through different perspectives to ensure the student fully understands the topic in a learning style they are comfortable with. Additionally students feel comfortable with me as I utilise an encouraging approach as a tutor so they feel supported with their queries.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is to make the student feel safe in the lesson. Especially when they’re facing subjects they struggle with which makes the lesson experience daunting. A good tutor has to challenge the student’s misconceptions that they’re bad at a certain subject to raise their confidence so they’re able to efficiently continue learning and don’t go on to avoid the subject. This especially important for maths and science subjects as they’re difficult but often unavoidable.
