What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students that aren't confident in their schooling and watching as their confidence with answering questions improves with every lesson, even if their answers are wrong. Due to my own struggles with this confidence and fear of being wrong throughout high school, this is one of the greatest achievements for me to see.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

i think my personal strength as a tutor is figuring out what type of learning style the student prefers and learns better by, and then adapting my teaching techniques to benefit each student. Another strength of mine is making the student feel comfortable around me and providing a space where they can make mistakes without judgement.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The obvious thing thats most important for a tutor to do for a student is try and improve their grades in school, but another very important thing that i personally think a tutor can do is improve the students confidence in the subject as well as confidence in making mistakes and using them mistakes to improve.

About Tameika

Emerging Tutor with Strong Academic and Psychology Background

I am 19 years old and graduated Year 12 in 2024. I am currently doing a Bachelor of Psychology at Monash University. I live in Tarneit but am willing to drive to you to help your children!

Hands-On Experience Teaching and Motivating Children

Through her role as a circus coach, Tameika has spent many hours instructing children, demonstrating skills step by step, and ensuring their safety while keeping them engaged. She has learnt how to adapt explanations when a child is stuck, use motivating language to encourage persistence, and manage a group calmly and confidently. This practical coaching experience translates directly into her tutoring style: clear demonstrations, patient correction, and praise that is specific and meaningful.

Personalised One-on-One Tutoring with a Creative Touch

As a self-employed private tutor, Tameika provides one-on-one support in English and Maths, creating her own practice questions and tailored homework guidance. She plans lessons around each student’s current schoolwork and interests, often drawing on her love of reading, art and craft to make examples more relatable. Comfortable managing her own scheduling and lesson plans, this tutor offers parents a reliable, organised service while giving students a friendly, approachable mentor they can ask anything.
