What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to boost a student's confidence in topics they were unsure about, especially seeing the moment when they understand my explanations. I also find it rewarding to see students who originally walked in worried or confused about something and walk out relieved because they genuinely understand what they've learnt. Furthermore, I enjoy all the small and not-necessarily-academic interactions that take place. Overall, being able to observe student's personal growth over the year/s is motivating.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I have the patience that is required for tutoring, especially when it comes to some students finding it more difficult to understand topics than others which require some extra explanation. Overall, I am good at providing a safe and low-pressure learning environment with my friendly attitude. I am also confident in communicating a point towards others as I have some experience in doing so.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Some things I believe are crucial for tutors to do is to provide motivation for students so they are willing to learn, as well as teaching from the root of the topic including the working out methods to achieve the final answer. Furthermore, tutors should be able to recognise when a student has difficulty understanding a topic and take the initiative to offer extra help; this helps build the relationship between tutor and student, thus boosting a student's confidence and willingness to ask for help.
