What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students to understand complex concepts and to improve their skills. It's very rewarding for me to see my students improving their academic performance and getting some personal development with my help.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strength as a tutor is that I'm a very patient person to help student to understand the challenging concepts. At the same time, I completed my HSC in NSW and get a competitive ATAR of 96+, which would be beneficial for me to teach the syllabus and help them to improve academically. Moreover, I'm an adaptive person who would like to adapt my teaching skills to different individuals based on their personalities and their or their parents' expectations.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to build confidence for them and to help them to find their ways to improve. As every individual is different, they all need to be encouraged to find their own strengths and gradually improve their skills.

About Crystal

Strong Recent Graduate with Proven Academic Success

Crystal is a recent high school graduate who achieved an ATAR above 95, giving her a fresh and detailed understanding of the current maths and science syllabuses. She knows exactly what students are expected to master and how exams are marked. This tutor explains tricky ideas in clear, simple steps and remembers what it’s like to be a student under pressure. Crystal focuses on building both skills and confidence, so students feel ready for class tests and major exams.

Experience Guiding Students and Leading Academic Activities

As an academic advisor in a Model United Nations club, Crystal guided other students through complex topics, helping them research, organise information, and present their ideas clearly. She ran mock sessions, gave targeted feedback on written work, and coached students on public speaking and negotiation. This experience translates directly into her tutoring style: structured, well-prepared lessons with lots of opportunities for questions, discussion, and practice, especially useful for students who need help expressing their thinking in maths and science.

Clear Communicator with a Supportive Teaching Style

Crystal is bilingual in English and Chinese, which can be especially helpful for students from multilingual families or those who benefit from explanations in more than one language. She uses her strong communication skills to break down concepts into manageable pieces and checks understanding with simple examples before moving on. Crystal is patient and approachable, encouraging students to say when they are stuck. She aims to create a comfortable, focused environment where mistakes are treated as useful steps towards improvement.
