What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I enjoy seeing a student's confidence soar as they master their subject. The transition from a student being unsure of how to approach a task to them fully understanding the depth of the content is extremely rewarding as a tutor. For example, I was helping my HSC student write a narrative. She finds imaginative writing challenging as english is her least favourite subject, so she didn't have high hopes going into the session. However, as I supported her initial ideas, provided my perspective and guided her through structure, motifs and cultural landscapes, we were very happy with the draft.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I believe my strengths as a tutor are attention to detail and thriving in goal-oriented and progress driven environment. These are especially useful, as by understanding a studentโs aspirations I can assist them in closing the gap between where they are now and where they want to be by efficiently finding the knowledge gaps and guiding them through the process of mastering their subject.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe tutors should have a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys by providing the encouragement, motivation and support they need to ensure they excel at their subjects. Whether this be through answering questions in or outside the classroom, providing extra feedback on past papers or explaining difficult concepts, tutors must help students build confidence in their ability to perform at school, especially in areas of the syllabus that need the most work.
