What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really like making a difference in my students' academic journey. My first tutoring experience was at the same tutoring organization I used to attend as a Year 12 student. I have had experience teaching Year 7 to 12 students and have noticed that the more you help them achieve their academic goals, you as a tutor also feel proud of your job.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Great communication and listening skills. Before delving deeper into a topic I make sure that the student understands the basics first. I also assign homework outside of what they are already given at school to make sure they have sufficient practice to ace their assignments, tests, and exams.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Making the students believe in themselves. I notice that it's mostly the students who are commited and dedicated towards their studies that tend to do well at school and during the tutoring session. I always make sure that students make the best out of the tutoring session both emotionally and academically so they enjoy learning the subject even if they initially found it hard. Making the students feel comfortable and helping them identify their mistakes are one of the most important things that I personally believe a tutor should do. Reassuring the student about mistakes is also very important.
