What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy building meaningful relationships with my students, so that I can not only resemble a tutor for their learning needs, but also a mentor that can guide them during difficult learning periods. Therefore, I can firsthand observe the self-confidence that is built of my students which I quite resonate with as they find study techniques that work for them and which they can also enjoy.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe my ability to understand my students on a deeper level such as their hobbies and other interests is a major strength as it builds those intepersonal relationships and allos them to be more comfortable with me over time. As a result, they are more open towards constructive criticism and are more willing to ask any questions or seek support when required.
Additionally, my adaptability to certain students is also a strength of mine. I can vary my teaching techniques whether that be with more theory and foundational learning or more difficult applications to hard questions.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Being able to consistently be present for my students is the most important thing to do as a tutor. Through my experience, I have either built a online channel I can use to communicate with them or their parents to check in on their progress at home. Doing this allows the students to have support 24/7 even outside tutoring lessons in order to have that guidance.

About Rafid
High-achieving maths and science mentor who βgetsβ senior school pressure
Rafid is a recent Year 12 graduate who tutors Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology, with strong results across senior levels. As an aspiring medical student who scored more than 90% in the UCAT and progressed to multiple interviews, he understands exactly how demanding senior school can be. He brings this insight into sessions by teaching efficient study habits, exam strategies and time management, helping students lift their marks while feeling more in control of their workload.
Clear explanations, A+ exemplars and structured exam preparation
This tutor supports students with detailed written feedback, A+ exemplar responses and guided drafting for assessment tasks. He breaks down complex concepts into simple steps, then shows students how to apply them to test and exam questions. Rafid also uses online platforms so students can ask questions between lessons, share tricky problems and check their working, making support more continuous and reducing last-minute stress before assessments.
Building confidence through genuine connection and tailored support
Rafid focuses on building genuine rapport, especially with students who feel anxious or βnot good atβ maths or science. He starts by identifying gaps in understanding, then designs targeted practice and checkpoints so students can see clear progress. In sessions he encourages students to talk through their thinking, which helps them gain confidence in class participation and exams. Parents can expect a tutor who combines strong academic skills with a calm, relatable presence.
