What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring and overall teaching because helping someone is an amazing and satisfying feeling as they can learn to develop their skills and passion for learning.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have developed my patience through teaching physical education activities such as learn to swim where I taught students to build confidence and water safety skills. I know I am encouraging from the improvements shown as I took the role as the unofficial maths tutor for siblings and friends during exam periods.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor should be a passionate and encouraging role model for the students, congratulating every success, and promoting positivity in engagement and completion of all tasks.

Testimonials 🏆

We are happy with Blake. He seems a great guy with his own impressive achievements. It is nice for my boys to interact with a young man of his calibre. We were impressed that after only a single 1 hour session with both boys, Blake developed an understanding of each boy and had goals in mind for each one and a plan as to how he would achieve it with them – again different strategies for each boy.

About Blake

Building Confidence Through Clear, Patient Teaching

Blake is a friendly, downtoearth tutor who has already spent many hours helping younger siblings and family friends with maths. He explains ideas step by step, checking that students genuinely understand before moving on. As a learntoswim instructor, he is used to breaking complex skills into simple, manageable stages and celebrating small wins along the way. This same patient, practical approach helps school students feel more confident tackling tricky maths questions.

Experienced Working Safely and Positively With Children

Through his work as a learntoswim instructor, Blake has extensive experience managing groups of children, keeping them engaged, focused and safe. He holds a Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR certifications, giving parents extra peace of mind. He is comfortable supporting nervous or shy learners, using calm encouragement and clear routines. This background means he can quickly build trust with primary and lower high school students and create a positive atmosphere for learning.

Active, GoalFocused Approach to Learning

Currently studying Exercise and Sport Science, Blake understands motivation, goalsetting and how practice leads to improvement. He often uses simple reallife examples from sport and everyday activities to make maths feel more relevant and less intimidating. In swimming lessons he sets short, achievable targets for each child; in tutoring, he brings the same strategy to homework, revision and test preparation. This tutor helps students set clear goals, track their progress and develop strong study habits over time.
