What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing the moment when something finally “clicks†for a student. Helping someone go from feeling confused or unsure to confident is really rewarding. I also like getting to know how different students think and finding the best way to explain things so they make sense to them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my biggest strengths is patience. I’m good at explaining ideas in different ways until they make sense, and I don’t mind going over things more than once. I’m also a good listener, so I can figure out where a student is getting stuck and adjust my approach to match their learning style.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things are building confidence, creating a comfortable learning environment, and helping students develop good problem-solving habits. A tutor should support students without making them feel judged and encourage them to become more independent and confident learners over time.

About annika

High-achieving maths specialist with proven results

Annika is a high-performing high school graduate who completed advanced mathematics early, achieving more than 90% in both internal and external exams. She also studied extension mathematics at a high level and earned an ATAR above 95, supported by an all-round academic scholarship and repeated academic distinction awards. This tutor brings a strong grasp of mathematical concepts and exam techniques, making her well suited to support primary and high school students in building confidence and lifting results in Maths.

Experienced in guiding younger students and building literacy

Through regular volunteering at school, Annika has hands-on experience supporting younger students with their reading and general learning routines. She helped run a “breakfast with books” program, reading with younger children to improve their literacy while building warm, encouraging relationships. She has also supervised students as they moved to after-school activities, following tight schedules and giving clear instructions. This background means she is comfortable leading younger learners and keeping sessions organised and focused.

Patient coach with teaching training and strong communication

Annika holds a formal teaching qualification in swimming, where she learned how to break skills into simple steps, give constructive feedback, and keep lessons engaging and safe. She brings this same structured, calm approach to academic tutoring, especially for students who feel anxious about Maths or English. Her involvement in community service projects shows she is reliable and empathetic, and parents can expect a tutor who communicates clearly, prepares thoroughly, and genuinely enjoys helping students improve.
