What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to share my knowledge in a way that helps others truly understand concepts and gain confidence in their own abilities. Through helping friends and family during the HSC and trial period, I found it especially rewarding to see someone go from feeling unsure about maths to realising that they can do it. Supporting others as they build confidence and belief in themselves is what I find most motivating about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor include patience, adaptability, and clear communication. I adjust my teaching style and explanations to suit each student’s needs and learning pace, and I focus on encouraging students so they feel supported and confident rather than discouraged. I aim to explain concepts in a way that is clear, efficient, and easy to understand without oversimplifying or overcomplicating the content.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is build confidence in their own abilities. Beyond simply sharing knowledge, a tutor should help students recognise that they already have the capacity to understand and apply what they learn. By guiding students to apply their knowledge independently, tutors can empower them not only in the subject being taught, but also in how they approach challenges more broadly. This confidence and problem-solving mindset can have a lasting impact beyond the classroom.

About Angela
Emerging Tutor with Strong English Skills and a Love of Learning
Angela is a recent high school graduate who excelled in advanced and extension English, as well as senior mathematics and biology. Now beginning a double major in Psychological Science and Neuroscience, she brings a strong academic foundation and a genuine interest in how students think and learn. This tutor is especially well suited to support primary and early high school students who need clear explanations, help with writing, and guidance in building confidence with reading and comprehension.
Experience Mentoring Younger Students and Building Confidence
Through her school’s leadership and Peer Support programs, Angela regularly guided younger students, helping them settle into school life and build positive study habits. She has experience leading small groups, explaining tasks step by step, and checking that each student feels included and understood. This mentoring background shapes her tutoring style: calm, patient, and encouraging, with a focus on making students feel safe to ask questions and learn from mistakes.
Organised, Disciplined and Easy to Relate To
Angela balances university study with regular gym training, showing strong discipline, time management, and commitment—skills she passes on to her students through simple routines for homework and revision. With fluent English and additional languages, she understands what it’s like to navigate different ways of speaking and writing, which can be reassuring for bilingual students. This tutor aims to make sessions structured but relaxed, using real-life examples and friendly conversation to keep students engaged while steadily improving their skills.

Ruby is encouraged to keep working on her approach to examination questions. She should try to ensure she has understood every aspect of the question before attempting it, and should be doing some timed question practice to enhance work under pressure. She should also continue the practice of highlighting key information in questions as to not lose focus of important details.
