Joshua is a friendly, confident communicator who already has real teaching experience from working as a swim instructor with children as young as 6 months through to early teens. Managing classes of up to 12 students on his own, he has learnt how to keep children engaged, explain instructions clearly and respond calmly to parentsโ questions. His background in public speaking and debating means he can break concepts down in simple, relatable language, helping school students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their ideas.
Joshua has a proven track record of leading and supporting younger students. As a primary school house captain, he helped run events, encouraged participation and acted as a role model, guiding his house to success in public speaking and debating competitions. He also serves on his schoolโs student representative council, giving him experience listening to different viewpoints and representing others. These roles show that he takes responsibility seriously and knows how to motivate and organise students in a positive, respectful way.
Alongside his academic focus, Joshua is deeply involved in music and sport, playing in senior school ensembles and school basketball. This tutor understands how busy school life can be and uses that insight to help students balance their commitments while staying on top of their work. His experience in a youth orchestra program and school teams has built strong collaboration and perseverance, which he brings into tutoring sessions to encourage consistent effort, resilience and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
