What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring is working with kids and being able to help them reach their full potential. I like answering their questions, guiding them when they need help, and doing my best to support them academically. To me, one of the most rewarding parts is also seeing students feel proud of themselves for the work they have done and the progress they have made.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I think my strengths include being very patient and approachable, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions. Not only do I enjoy working with kids, I am also a very determined person, so I would always do my best to help them understand what they are learning. Moreover, having studied in both Singapore and Australia, I am able to draw the knowledge I have learnt from both education systems and adapt my approach to suit different students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the things I consider the most important for a tutor to do for a student is to have patience and be amicable so that students don't feel pressured or stressed during sessions. In my opinion, a tutor should feel like someone students can go to for help outside of school in a relaxed and supportive way. It's also important to understand that every student is different, so a tutor needs to identify what each student specifically needs and tailor lessons to suit them.

About Rayzel
High-achieving student with strong Maths and English results
Rayzel is a high-performing senior high school student with an ATAR above 95, backed by multiple academic distinction awards. This tutor understands exactly what is expected in today’s classrooms and assessments, particularly in Maths and English. Because she is currently immersed in the school system, she can break down concepts in a way that feels clear and current for primary and high school students, from foundational skills to exam-style questions and study techniques.
Patient, organised and great at explaining concepts
Through her experience helping others in school settings, Rayzel has developed a calm, step-by-step approach to explaining tricky ideas. She focuses on finding where a student is getting stuck and then reshaping the explanation with simple language, examples and checks for understanding. This tutor is organised and reliable, arriving prepared with questions, practice tasks and strategies tailored to each student’s level so they can steadily build confidence and independence.
Relatable role model who understands student pressures
As a recent high achiever herself, Rayzel understands exam stress, homework loads and the pressure to perform. She uses this insight to coach students not only in content, but also in practical study habits, time management and test preparation. Parents can expect a tutor who is friendly and approachable, yet focused on improvement—someone who can connect with students as an older peer while still maintaining clear goals and high academic standards.

Eden knows her 3 timestable really well and learnt her 4 timestable really quickly. We did until the multiple of 12 and she improved with knowing the answers, as well as knowing how to count from the previous numbers, for both 3 and 4.
She can generally answer the multiplication table if it's in order. However, if I ask her a random one (for example, asking 3x7 instead of starting from 3x1 all the way until 3x7) she gets a little lost. Sometimes she also has counting errors but that could be solved with more practice.

She knows her 2 timestable really well. Regarding spelling and grammar, she was engaged during the lesson and learnt the concepts and rules of lowercase/uppercase letters in nouns quickly. She also got the hang of verbs using the preposition "to" or "at" and was very eager in learning the difference between the two.
We went through the concept of lowercase and uppercase letters before, but she is still a little hesitant and unsure of when the rules take place. Eg: We went through "I" the last lesson, but she initially wrote "i am" instead of "I am" — but she corrected her mistake and learnt from it once I pointed it out.
She knows how to count the multiples of 2 very well. She also looks at the concepts through different angles and is very engaging and eager during the lesson.

She has a little difficulty understanding the concept of multiplication itself, but with more questions she was getting the hang of the pattern in multiplication questions.

She repeated the same mistakes a few times but she quickly corrected herself after I pointed out something was incorrect. Sometimes she also forgets to read aloud her thought process, but once I remind her to, she does so accordingly.
