What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have always enjoyed teaching ever since I was little, whether it would be helping my younger sister with homework or helping classmates at school. I love explaining things in different ways to make the person completely understand which brings me joy to see improvement and them being confident in their ability to learn. I love teaching differently depending on the student to ensure they find a learning style that suits them so they could enjoy learning more and be less anxious about learning.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths as a tutor are my communication skills, patience, empathy and my ability to adapt explanations depending on the student. I'm great at breaking down complex ideas into more simple steps to ensure the student completely understands the topic. I also don't mind going over a certain topic multiple times or in different ways until it makes sense. I am also an extremely organised and reliable person, so I would come prepared with examples and practise questions and would remember what the student had struggled with the lesson prior to be prepared for the following lesson.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think some of the most important things a tutor can do for a student involve listening and understanding where they're really struggling to be able to help them effectively. This also includes explaining terms or topics not just in the textbook way, but with examples or analogies that would make sense to them. Being patient is also extremely important, as it wouldn't put too much pressure on the student, ultimately leading to them building their confidence, and hence improving immensely.

About Aysu

Warm, Bilingual Support for Primary Learners

As a recent high school graduate, Aysu brings fresh, relatable support for primary students, especially those building confidence in English. Fluent in both English and Turkish, she is well placed to help bilingual children or those from multilingual homes feel understood and at ease. Her background in childcare as an educator assistant means she is used to supervising young children, guiding their behaviour kindly, and explaining things in simple, clear steps—ideal for early literacy, basic maths, and homework help.

Childcare Experience that Translates into Tutoring

Aysu has hands-on experience assisting with the daily care and learning of children in a formal childcare setting. She has communicated closely with both children and parents to support wellbeing and development, skills she now brings into one-on-one tutoring. She is used to creating engaging activities, keeping children on task, and adjusting explanations to different ages and personalities. This tutor understands how to keep younger learners focused, encouraged, and feeling safe to ask questions when they are unsure.

Patient Communicator with Strong Organisational Skills

Through her leadership roles at school and customer-facing work, Aysu has developed clear communication, patience, and strong time management—key qualities for effective tutoring sessions. She is comfortable breaking instructions into manageable steps, checking for understanding, and calmly repeating concepts when needed. Used to balancing multiple responsibilities and staying organised, this tutor can help students plan their homework, manage deadlines, and build study habits that support success in English and maths throughout primary and early high school.
