What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

Something that I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from feeling completely clueless to having a concept finally click, as it is incredibly rewarding to be part of that moment. From my own experience, my tutor was a great mentor and someone I truly admired, and they played a huge role in building my confidence. That experience is a big reason why I enjoy tutoring and why I hope to be that kind of supportive mentor for other students. I also enjoy building supportive relationships with students and helping them develop better study habits, not just better grades.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

To list some of my strengths, I am personable and communicate well with students, especially younger learners, which Iโ€™ve developed through spending a lot of time with my younger cousins. Regarding older high school students, I believe I have a slight advantage since I am a recent high school graduate, so I also understand what it feels like to be stressed out by exams and academic pressure, so Iโ€™m able to empathise and relate to students while supporting them in an encouraging way. I am also able and happy to cater to different students' learning styles to better support their learning.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them understand why concepts work, not just how to get the answer. By helping students develop effective learning methods and problem-solving strategies, they become more independently confident, allowing them to overcome academic challenges even without a tutor guiding them. Other important things a tutor can do includes helping students build confidence, provide consistent support, tailor learning to the studentโ€™s individual needs, and creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

About Alice

Brains, Balance & a Bit of Gym Time ?

When Iโ€™m not tutoring, youโ€™ll probably find me at the gym or reorganising my notes (yes, for fun). I love staying active, keeping lessons upbeat, and making learning feel way less intimidating than school sometimes makes it.
