What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The opportunity to be able to provide unique and tailored insight to assist in an individual student's learning journey where they may not have the opportunities in their regular schooling. Essentially, being able to connect with a student and understand the way they learn best.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have an incredibly warm personality and am very good at working with lots of different types of people. I currently hold a Diploma of Musical Theatre and am studying a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) so I am no stranger to having to quickly work together with people and create spaces that are inviting and enjoyable. I have experience teaching the performing arts but I know I would thrive being able to tutor more academic subjects to students because I would be able to combine the skills I already have with the knowledge of my process that lead me to achieving a 95+ ATAR in my VCE for 2024.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Being a welcoming and encouraging force that knows when to push a student but can still maintain a sense of positivity and humour to support and extend their learning.

About Zachary

Confident Communicator and Role Model

Zachary is a high-achieving recent school graduate, with an ATAR in the mid90s, who understands what it takes to succeed in today’s classrooms. As a former performing arts captain, he regularly spoke in front of large student groups, helped plan events, and worked with staff to improve the school experience. This background means he brings confidence, clear communication and a calm, relatable presence to tutoring sessions, helping students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new strategies in Maths and English.

Leadership and Mentoring Through the Arts

In his leadership role, Zachary actively built an inclusive environment by welcoming younger students into performing arts, guiding them through rehearsals and supporting them backstage. He coordinated technical elements like lighting and sound, which required attention to detail, planning and problemsolving under pressure. These experiences translate directly into tutoring: he breaks tasks into manageable steps, keeps students focused, and encourages them to take ownership of their learning while still feeling supported and understood.

Engaging, Safe and Student-Focused Approach

With training in first aid and CPR, this tutor brings an added layer of reassurance for families, alongside a caring and responsible attitude. His musical theatre background helps him make sessions engaging, using performance techniques such as voice, pacing and storytelling to bring English texts to life and build students’ confidence in presentations. Zachary’s warm personality and strong teamwork skills allow him to adapt to different learning styles, helping both primary and high school students stay motivated and enjoy learning.
