What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the process of helping a student, seeing them grow, and working together on figuring out how they can learn better. I also enjoy seeing them build their confidence as they learn new concepts, especially in topics they were apprehensive to learn.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths as a tutor are my patience, creative problem-solving, and collaboration. I understand how learning can be difficult, and everyone thinks in their own way and has their own way of learning.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are provide guidance and tools that will help them learn their current topic and beyond. This includes figuring out learning strategies that work well for the student and building confidence in tackling new and difficult subjects. Tutoring also provides a space to ask questions and seek support.

Testimonials 🏆

Jennifer has been fantastic. A great match for our daughter.

About Jennifer

Strong maths foundation with real-world problem-solving

Jennifer is a medical student with a degree in engineering and a minor in chemistry, giving her a deep and practical understanding of maths, from core skills through to calculus and trigonometry. She is used to breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and linking them to real-life examples from science and everyday situations. This tutor helps students not just “get the right answer”, but also understand the reasoning, patterns, and problem-solving strategies behind it.

Experienced working with children and teens of diverse needs

Jennifer has extensive experience supporting children and teenagers in both educational and care settings, including working closely with students aged 9–12 and those with ADHD. She has also volunteered with young patients, creating engaging maths sheets and reading activities tailored to different ages. These roles have taught her how to adjust explanations, pace, and activities to suit each learner, build trust quickly, and keep students focused and comfortable, even when they usually find schoolwork challenging.

Patient, organised mentor who builds confidence

As a student mentor in a demanding medical program, Jennifer has guided others in planning their study, managing stress, and staying on track with long-term goals—skills she brings directly into her tutoring. She is detail-oriented and well-organised, helping students develop step-by-step methods for tackling maths and English tasks. Sessions with this tutor are calm, structured, and encouraging, with plenty of chances to ask questions, practise, and celebrate small wins so that confidence grows alongside academic results.
