What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students grow in confidence and start believing in their own abilities. Watching a concept “click†after they’ve been feeling stuck, and seeing their mindset shift from “I can’t do this†to “I can tryâ€, is incredibly rewarding. I also love building supportive relationships with students and helping them feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and enjoying the learning process.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my key strengths as a tutor is breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps so students can build understanding with confidence. I place a strong emphasis on why concepts work, not just how to apply them, and focus on deep understanding rather than memorisation. I regularly check for understanding and adjust my explanations to ensure students genuinely grasp concepts before moving on.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence in the subject. I have worked with students who become afraid of maths after getting questions wrong and start avoiding challenging problems. It is crucial to help them regain the courage to approach even “scary-looking†questions, trust their problem-solving process, and believe that they can do it. By creating a supportive environment and focusing on understanding rather than fear of mistakes, tutors can help students develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
