What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

When teaching kids in Taekwondo, I really enjoy the feeling of passing down the knowledge and getting to vocalise my understanding and experience with a topic/technique.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have patience and am willing to empathise with students on points of struggle. But most of all I have a passion for these subjects and take teaching them seriously.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Beyond giving genuine support to a student, a level of empathy for student's current level and knowledge, while keeping their aims for tutoring in mind.

About Ronan

Strong maths and science foundation

I am currently a second-year student at the University of Melbourne, studying for my major in chemistry and a diploma in mathematical sciences. I have completed my secondary education in the ACT, but I am very familiar with the similar VCE curriculum. When I'm not studying, I go hiking and am involved in environmental conservation in my free time.

Practical teaching experience with younger students

Ronan has hands-on coaching experience through his role in martial arts, where he helps teach and guide younger members. He is used to breaking skills into manageable steps, giving calm, constructive feedback and keeping students engaged, even when they find something challenging. This tutor brings that same patient, structured approach to academic tutoring, focusing on building confidence as well as skills so students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new strategies.

Organised, reliable and easy to work with

As treasurer of a university club, Ronan manages budgets, communicates with members and prepares reports, so he is highly organised and dependable. His volunteer work has strengthened his communication skills and his ability to work well with a wide range of people. In tutoring sessions, this means clear explanations, well-prepared materials and lessons that start and finish on time. Ronan aims to create a friendly, focused environment where students feel supported to improve week by week.
