What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy being able to explain concepts and techniques to students and them being able to understand and apply their new knowledge into their work.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think I am able to explain and understand concepts clearly and quickly as I often helped my friends in classes and completed work before the teacher.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to provide them the resources, materials and support they specifically need to improve by catering to their weaknesses and strengths. By doing this, students are more at ease as they know we want to help and they are improving in the more effective way possible

About Eliza

High-achieving maths student with strong academic results

Eliza is a high-performing maths student who completed Advanced Mathematics and Mathematics Extension 1 in school, earning results in the top band ranges and ranking 1st in Mathematics 5.3. She is now studying a double degree in Actuarial Studies and Information Systems, which keeps her problem-solving and numeracy skills sharp. This tutor understands what is required to excel in school maths and can clearly explain concepts, step-by-step methods, and exam-style problem solving to both primary and high school students.

Real classroom experience supporting English and maths learning

Eliza has hands-on educational experience from working at a learning centre, where she marked homework booklets for classes of up to 20 students in English, Mathematics and Novel Study. She became skilled at quickly spotting common errors, tracking progress and entering results into reporting systems. This background means she can pinpoint where a student is slipping up, give specific feedback, and help them build stronger skills in reading, writing and maths through targeted practice and clear correction.

Organised, relatable mentor who leads by example

As a Student Representative Council member and Sport Captain, Eliza regularly communicated with students and teachers, organised activities and modelled responsibility and teamwork. She brings this same organised, upbeat approach to tutoring, using her quick mental calculation skills and strong memorisation to keep sessions efficient and engaging. This tutor works well with different personalities, encourages questions, and helps students build confidence, not just in the subject, but in how they approach study and school more broadly.
