What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy being able to share my knowledge and help other people. It really makes me happy when students have that moment of realisation regarding how to implement basic skills to solve a complex topic.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I do my best to find out the way the student best learns (e.g through being guided through it or only intervening when they go wrong, ect.) and implement this in order to assure that the student learns and remains engaged. I do my best to break down challenging topics into simple and understandable terms to make it easier to comprehend. I also work to reinforce basic skills as I have typically found that gaps in this foundational learning tends to be a students biggest problem when attempting to solve more challenging problems.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important things a tutor can do for their student is reinforce their confidence as well as help build their skills and knowledge.
The student has obviously come to you for help because they need guidance and assistance to help build their skills however I find that building their confidence is just as important at times because when students find something frustrating and hard they typically donβt even want to try. Building a students confidence means the difference between flipping through a math test and going, βthatβs too hardΓ’β¬ and filling it out to the best of your ability.
