What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy passing my knowledge onto the next generation. It makes me happy knowing that I am enriching other students and preparing the next generation with their knowledge. I enjoy passing down the things I learned during high school, and watching students learn and improve slowly over time.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am very patient and understanding. I will take time to explain concepts, and repeat myself until my student's understand. I will also hold them accountable and have them actively engage with the content by setting them practice questions, so it is not just me talking at them the whole time. This will test their application and see if they actually understand what I am saying.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor should act as both a role model and a mentor. The main goal should be to teach them subject content, but their role should not be limited to this. A tutor can also be viewed as a role model and someone to look up to. They can act as a friend and mentor, and help guide students on the right path. This means also giving advice outside of the classroom and supporting their students with anything they need.

About Wayne

High-achieving humanities and maths mentor

Wayne is a high-performing graduate who excelled in English, History, Psychology and Economics, while also confidently supporting students in Mathematics. He consistently ranked near the top of his cohort in multiple subjects and achieved more than 90% in several final examinations. This strong academic background means he understands how to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, whether a student is struggling with essay writing, exam technique, or core maths skills in primary or high school.

Proven tutoring results with personalised resources

In high school, Wayne founded and led a large peer tutoring club of over 120 students, then moved into one-on-one private tutoring. He has supported learners across Mathematics, English, History, Psychology and Economics, using the Cambridge syllabus as a base. Wayne creates his own notes, practice essay questions and worksheets tailored to each student. One of his students lifted their performance from under 50% on an internal test to more than 90% in the final external exam, showing his ability to build real, measurable improvement.

Leadership, mentorship and real-world guidance

Beyond academics, Wayne has held multiple leadership roles, including senior prefect and club captain positions, which strengthened his communication and organisational skills. He offers free mentorship alongside tutoring, guiding students on subject choices, extension activities and early university planning. Drawing on his experience running school committees and leading teams, he helps students build confidence, study habits and a sense of direction. Parents can expect a tutor who relates well to young people and brings structure, encouragement and clear goals to every lesson.
