What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

What I enjoy most is working with kids. Since each student is different, with their own strengths and weaknesses, I enjoy finding teaching strategies that work for each individual. And seeing those kids grow and improve in their weaknesses is an enjoyable and proud moment as their tutor.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

My strength as a tutor is my ability to adapt easily. The ability to instantly tailor explanations based on a student's current understanding, adjusting the complexity or approach as needed. I am also patient and consistent, providing non-judgmental, repetitive support, which is ideal for students who struggle to remember and need to review topics multiple times.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is build self-confidence and motivation, foster a belief in the student's own potential and have a positive attitude toward learning, which is very important for overcoming academic challenges. Also, create a safe, patient learning environment by being welcoming and patient, which allows students to ask questions without fear of being judged, which is vital for building trust. For the long term, moving beyond just providing answers, a tutor should teach critical thinking, study skills and organisational techniques.

About Jiya

Experienced Learning Support in Maths and English

Jiya brings hands-on experience as an educational assistant, working closely with primary and high school students in maths and English. She has run small-group and one-to-one sessions, tailoring activities to each studentโ€™s level and learning style. Used to supporting students with different academic, behavioural and learning needs, this tutor is comfortable breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps. Parents can expect structured sessions that focus on confidence-building as well as steady improvement in core skills.

Strong Academic Foundation and Study Skills Coaching

With a senior school background in Chemistry, Human Biology, Economics, Maths Applications and English, Jiya understands what it takes to manage a demanding workload and succeed across subjects. She is currently studying Business Administration, giving her up-to-date skills in organisation, time management and analytical thinking. In sessions, she helps students plan their study, organise homework, and develop exam strategies, not just โ€œget throughโ€ tasks. This tutor aims to build independent learners who know how to tackle new problems calmly and logically.

Engaging Mentor with Leadership and STEM Experience

Beyond the classroom, Jiya has led STEM camp activities for younger students and served as a school mentor and science captain, guiding peers and younger learners through projects and challenges. She has also choreographed and led dance performances, which shows in her energetic, interactive tutoring style. Comfortable working with shy or reluctant students, she uses clear explanations, positive reinforcement and practical examples to keep lessons engaging, while maintaining the structure and boundaries needed for real progress.
