What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I like tutoring because I enjoy helping people get unstuck. A lot of the time students already know more than they think, they just need things explained in a way that makes sense to them. It’s really satisfying seeing someone go from feeling confused or stressed to feeling more confident. I also like making learning feel less intense and more doable, especially for subjects students usually find intimidating.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths is patience. I take the time to understand how a student thinks before explaining a concept, rather than rushing through material. I’m good at explaining ideas in simple steps and adapting my explanations if something isn’t clear the first time. Having tutored IB students before, I also understand the pressure students face and try to be encouraging and supportive while still keeping sessions productive.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make students feel comfortable enough to ask questions without feeling judged. When students aren’t scared of getting things wrong, they actually start understanding the content instead of just memorising answers. Building confidence is just as important as teaching the material, because once students believe they can do it, they become more independent and don’t feel like they always need help.
