What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I would say, being able to see a student become more confident in themselves and being able to see their improvement in their subjects. Another aspect I enjoy is using my knowledge and experience in assisting the next generation to be able to grow into the best versions of themselves.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am enthusiastic about helping students progress towards their higher potential. I am calm, empathetic, and easy going. I bring an encouraging energy to students helping them to be more confident in their abilities.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing would be adaptability and patience. A key role as a tutor is helping students to build up their confidence and their skillset in being able to grow as a student in a manner that works for each individual student. Learning new skills can be challenging and so as a tutor, I listen intently and encourage the students to be communicative in where they are struggling so we can work towards overcoming each challenge.

About Peter

Strong science background for clear, logical explanations

Peter has completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physics, giving him a deep understanding of how and why maths works, not just how to follow formulas. He is used to breaking down complex ideas into smaller, logical steps, which is ideal for students who feel “lost” in Maths or Science. This tutor draws on his own experience of tackling challenging topics to show students different ways to see a problem until it finally clicks.

Analytical thinker who teaches problemsolving, not memorisation

Through his physics studies and experience with Python programming and data handling, Peter has spent many hours working through multi-step problems and checking his reasoning carefully. He brings this mindset into tutoring, guiding students to show their working, test their answers, and spot common mistakes. This tutor encourages students to ask “why does this work?” and uses real-world style questions to help them connect classroom maths to practical situations.

Patient, organised support tailored to each student

Peter’s background in highly detailed, technical work means he is naturally organised and methodical, which helps him structure sessions clearly and keep students on track. He uses his selfteaching skills to create or adapt practice questions to each student’s level, gradually increasing difficulty to build confidence. This tutor is calm, approachable, and happy to revisit ideas from different angles, helping both primary and high school students feel more confident and independent in their learning.
