What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the moment when a student realises they can do something they previously thought was out of reach. Thereโs something incredibly satisfying about watching confusion turn into clarity, not because youโve given them an answer, but because youโve helped them get there themselves.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My biggest strengths would be patience, clarity, and active listening. Because I've taught university students for four years, I'm used to breaking down complex ideas into clear and intuitive steps. How to present these steps however, depends on the learning style of the student, which is where active listening and patience becomes important. E.g, some students prefer visual and/or geometric explanations, whereas some prefer mathematical rigor. Where the "sweet spot" is depends on the student
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
Apart from the obvious task of building a students understanding of a topic, creating an environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes is important. This both helps the student absorb the material more effectively, and directly engages with their curiosity.
