What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

While tutoring is generally an intrinsically rewarding career, I personally consider the success of the student to be the most enjoyable part of working as a tutor. Particularly when a student begins to understand a topic they were initially struggling with!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As someone who has meticulously researched a range of study techniques to improve retention and minimise study time, I believe my strengths involve patiently understanding a student's knowledge gaps and employing specific techniques to support them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that tutoring largely involves guiding a student's approach to learning a topic. Hence, implementing a range of well-researched learning techniques is a key aspect of ensuring students not only approach topics comfortably, but also gain a thorough understanding that sticks with them.

About Fatima

High-achieving maths and science student who “gets” school pressure

Fatima is a top-performing senior student with an ATAR in the high 90s and multiple Academic Excellence Awards across Physics, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Economics and English. She has also earned a national chemistry excellence certificate and a subject award in Business Studies. Because she is currently navigating the same curriculum pathways your child faces, she explains concepts in a way that feels current, clear and relatable, especially for students aiming for strong results or selective pathways.

Clear communicator and experienced student leader

This tutor has spent years as a class representative and student councillor, regularly speaking at assemblies, running meetings and helping to coordinate whole-school events, including a popular talent competition. She launched and helped run clubs such as a STEM club, a Minecraft Education group and a debate club, giving her hands-on experience guiding younger students and peers. These roles mean she is confident, patient and able to break instructions into simple, manageable steps for students of different ages.

Organised, tech-savvy support for modern learners

Studying through distance education, Fatima has had to master self-discipline, organisation and time management, skills she now passes on to her students through structured lesson plans and simple study routines. She has completed a university-level STEM intensive in computer systems and built projects such as a motion-sensor security system and an educational game, so she is comfortable using technology, online tools and visual explanations to make maths and science less intimidating and more engaging for primary and high school learners.
