What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing my students finally grasp a concept they've been struggling with and build confidence in a topic they used to find difficult. I've always loved the logic of mathematics, but I find it even more rewarding to share that logic with someone else. I really enjoy the challenge of taking a difficult topic and finding new ways to explain complex concept that makes it click for a student. For me, tutoring isn't just about the grades. I believe my greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to bridge the gap between complex theory and practical application. My background in Actuarial Science & Data Analytics gives me a deep mastery of Math and Programming. But my experience teaching from 7-year-olds to college students has taught me that expertise means nothing if you can't communicate it. I pride myself on being highly adaptive. I can quickly adjust my teaching based on student's unique needs, such as using relatable metaphors for those who are struggling or providing 'upscaled' challenges to keep gifted student engaged.Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student build their mathematical intuition and the confidence to fail. Many students struggle not because they lack the ability, but because they are intimidated by the complexity of the subject. Instead of just teaching formulas to memorize, I show students the logic behind them, since I know that once you understand the 'why', you will be able to solve new problems.
