What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students change the way they see maths. Many students approach it with fear or the belief that it’s only for “smart†people. I enjoy breaking concepts down into simple, clear steps and building from the fundamentals so they realise it’s actually logical and manageable. The moment when something clicks for them and their confidence grows is the most rewarding part. For me, tutoring isn’t just about solving problems , for me it’s about helping students feel capable and enjoy learning. Coming from a family with background in education field ,
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my main strengths is understanding where a student currently stands and adjusting my teaching accordingly. Every student learns differently, so I first identify their gaps and then build from there. I also make sure their fundamentals are strong before moving to harder topics. This helps them feel more confident and prevents confusion later. This is something I have learn from my father and grandfather as they both are experienced highschool principals.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor’s role goes beyond just completing the syllabus. A good tutor should build clarity, confidence, and independent thinking in a student. This includes understanding where the student currently stands and explaining concepts in a way that suits their level. Encouraging questions, regular practice, and active discussion is important. Most importantly, a tutor should ignite curiosity, so students start learning because they’re genuinely interested, not just because they have to.

Raj is a postgraduate Computer Science student who has already worked as a parttime school teacher, teaching Mathematics, Science and basic Computer topics to a range of school students. He is used to explaining tricky ideas in simple, stepbystep ways and managing groups of learners with different abilities. This tutor has also provided onetoone support in Maths and Science, helping students lift their marks and feel more confident in class through structured lessons tailored to each child.
Individualised Lessons and Clear Concept Explanations
As a private tutor, Raj plans each session around the student’s current topics and gaps, using examples from everyday life to make abstract ideas more concrete. He focuses on breaking down worded problems, checking understanding with quick questions, and revisiting weak areas until they stick. Parents can expect regular feedback on progress and next steps, with Raj adjusting pace and difficulty so students are challenged but not overwhelmed.
TechSavvy, HandsOn Approach to Learning
Raj brings a practical, technologyfriendly style to tutoring. He has run workshops introducing school students to Robotics and simple IoT projects, which has sharpened his ability to make STEM subjects engaging and handson. In sessions, he is comfortable using digital tools, visual aids and practice problems to keep students involved. His background in computer engineering means he can show how Maths and Science connect to realworld technology, which often motivates curious learners, especially in upper primary and high school.
