What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students succeed. Whether it is the moment a concept finally clicks or when a student achieves marks beyond their expectations, those are the moments I value most.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I study engineering, and my early experience with programming helped me develop strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a systems-based way of thinking. These foundations have shaped the way I learn and the way I teach. In my free time, I enjoy reading, particularly in psychology, which has helped me become more self-aware and approach challenges from different perspectives. I bring this same mindset into tutoring by adapting my teaching style to suit each student’s needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe effective tutoring comes from understanding a student’s perspective when learning. A tutor who can do this can make lessons more engaging, identify learning barriers, and help students build genuine confidence and enjoyment in learning. Achieving this requires patience, empathy, and a willingness to understand each student’s individual needs.

In today’s session, we went through some questions in Aarav textbook, worked on compound interest and went briefly though HSC math advance content. Aarav could utilize the simple interest equation with fluency, and we’ve been training to help him understand percentages and fractions at its root and compare between the compound and simple interest equations.
There were minimal difficulties today, but the minor mistakes still happen sometimes. Aarav has also found heavy-worded questions difficult as they tend to be very confusing.

Dean has mastered the math content very well. He was able to solve many surface area and volume problems with ease. In science, he recently completed his test last week, so the new content has been straightforward for him.
There were no difficulties during today’s session.

Aarav is very proactive and has completed all of his math exercises. We went through the questions, and he was able to complete them with little guidance, apart from a few small corrections. Overall, the session went well and I will review his previous homework to see how he is going with science.
It is recommended for Aarav to do more practice on commissions, tax and PAYG. There are also a few minor mistakes such as putting in wrong numbers or arithmetic operations. With further practice and careful checking of calculations, Aarav will improve in both consistency and accuracy.

Dean was able to remember last week’s content on 3D shapes, and he also understands his science content well. When working on the heat energy equation, Dean came up with his own valid understanding of heat capacity. He also showed strong spatial awareness and appears to have a creative and imaginative mind but may struggle to put it into words
Dean showed improved understanding but will still require more practice when it comes to hollow shapes and differentiating when to calculate the perimeter or the area of a cylinder
