What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a concept click for students. By watching students go "Ohhh..." as they finally realise a concept is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. Alongside this, I enjoy the challenges of having to find different ways to explain concepts to different students, forcing me to adapt my approach to suit each student's style of learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to communicate clearly and my ability to teach different learning styles. I believe my naturally extroverted personality will help them feel comfortable and open, especially to asking questions they might believe are "silly" or "stupid." This is evident in my past experiences teaching maths and coaching basketball. Alongside this, I believe my passion for teaching will help me stay invested to help them get better.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be a friend. By doing this, it gives them someone they can relate and trust, which can help support them emotionally leading to a clearer mind and better learning outcomes. Being a friend also helps create a comfortable environment where students feel safe to ask questions, whilst helping me understand their thought process. This will not only help me find a way to explain concepts in a way they understand but also encourage them to engage more actively in their own learning.
