What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I think I enjoy most about tutoring students from Grade 5 to Grade 8 is their curiosity and interest to learn. At that age, they are still at a stage whereby they can grasp something in a short period of time if they are interested in the topic to be covered. It feels great when I explain something to someone in the simplest way that they understand and see the look of understanding on their face. Sometimes, they also ask funny and unexpected questions which makes the learning environment fun sometimes It is something that is very satisfying to answer for them and guide them to the right
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strength areas, that is my academics in math, in high school and university, I scored around 90% in this subject. Growing up in India, I was part of a system where a primary focus was completing the syllabus on time even if students did not understand the concept completely. As a result of this experience, I try to teach at a steady and understandable pace so that no student is lost. I have a easy going and friendly nature, which students feel free to ask me queries, but I can be strict when required to make them more attentive.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The best thing a tutor can do for a student is ensure that the student understands the concepts, and does not just memorise answers. A tutor must create such an environment so that a student can question without a second thought. It is equally essential to teach at a pace that suits the learning ability of the student and to explain in different ways until they understand. A tutor should also encourage curiosity and critical thinking among their students. A tutor must instill in the student a sense of confidence in their abilities so that they can become progressively independent.
