What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really enjoy helping people and seeing the improvement from one lesson to the next and within test scores as well. Also, seeing them be able to understand a topic, that they were once extremely confused about is so enjoyable as well.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I think some of my strengths as a tutor is being able to explain concepts in more than one way if the person I'm helping doesn't get it the first time and being patient with people until they can understand. Another thing I think is a strength of mine is being able to break down questions and concepts into simple terms and then building on them from there, to make sure that it is better understood, I would do this with my peers at school throughout VCE.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is give them the building blocks of understanding a new or tricky concept so then they can expand their knowledge and be able to work on it themselves, and give them the confidence to do this on their own.

About Zoe

Strong Maths Background with Senior-Level Study

Zoe is a high-achieving maths student who has studied both Maths Methods and Specialist Maths at senior level, giving her a deep understanding of concepts many students find challenging. She is confident with algebra, functions, calculus and problem-solving, and can explain ideas in clear, step-by-step ways. This tutor is especially well suited to primary and early high school students who need a solid foundation, as well as older students who want to strengthen their maths confidence.

Natural Peer Tutor Who Explains Things Simply

Throughout school, Zoe has been the β€œgo-to” person for classmates needing help in both general maths and Maths Methods. She regularly sits with friends to work through tricky questions, breaking problems down into manageable parts and showing different ways to reach an answer. This informal tutoring has helped her develop patience and strong communication skills, so she can quickly spot where a student is getting stuck and adjust her explanations to suit their learning style.

Patient, Organised and Easy to Relate To

As a current senior student, Zoe understands exactly what today’s learners are facing, from homework stress to test nerves. She brings strong organisational skills to her sessions, helping students plan their study, keep track of topics and build good habits early. Her friendly, down-to-earth manner makes it easy for younger students to ask questions without feeling embarrassed, creating a relaxed environment where they can practise, make mistakes and steadily improve their maths skills.
