What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When I was tutoring younger level friends in maths and accounting, it brings me a lot of joy to see when they begin to understand the concept. It's very rewarding to me, and it's also th journey of collaborating and talking to someone and both reaching an understanding of a concept to me is enjoyable.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think part of my strength is being meticulous and detail orientated. As such, when someone comes to me with a question, we really go into depth about it and navigate through the question with a lot of discussions. My ability to absorb that discussion to understand the person's strength and weaknesses is what I consider a core aspect to why I'm a good tutor.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think as a tutor, support is the most important thing we can do to students. This can be educational support, but also when a student is struggling emotionally or finding it challenging to navigate through work, I think as tutors we should also help the student in need. Obviously, we are not responsible for every burden the student have, but I think a good balance when building a portfolio of who the student is both as a student and a person is also extremely important.Subjects Tutored 🎓

She's still very nervous under quick time condition math quizzes and prone to panic. More confidence in her abilities will definitely help her improve and tackle these questions better.

Ruby still show finger counting for multiplication. While it's good to see her intuition towards tackling larger numbers and how to multiple/divide them, it's very slow and prone to mistakes if accidentally skipped a number when counting. Most important task until next week is to memorise the multiplication table. Next lesson (which is the final lesson for the year betwen us), we will tackle the relationship between division and multiplication.

Ruby's very enthusiastic this week, asking to do the weekly Kahoot first instead of at the end of the lesson. She's able to do numerical calculations very well, and she's able to identify patterns a lot better after tackling the given homework.
Ruby's attention is scattered this week, and she panics a lot when encountering worded questions. Ruby struggled with trick questions where not all numbers given in a question needs to be used. 3 worksheets have been given to tackle on worded questions ranging from multiplication, division and fractions. Note to self: Difficulty level taught in school is considered easy. We will notch down the numbers to mostly 2-3 digits until her foundation is excellent.

There's still finger counting when working on some multiplication. She's also capable of answering a lot of questions by herself but is simply lazy sometimes. Hopefully we can pick up the pace again by next week.
