What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping those in need, supporting and assisting them with studies, explaining concepts and building confidence. When students understand and gain confidence, I feel proud.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I have tutored many students before, and I believe being patient and building trust is the most important. I believe I have the patience to teach and explain concepts and skills when students have trouble understanding or learning difficulties.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I consider their strengths and weaknesses. This includes writing under timed conditions, writing fluently, working with any learning difficulties, and how they interpret/analyse different concepts.

About Hollie

Confident High-Achiever with Strong Study Skills

Hollie is a recent high-school graduate who achieved an ATAR above 90 and is now studying a double degree in Nursing and Midwifery. This tutor understands how to break down complex ideas into manageable steps and can share the study habits that helped her succeed in senior Maths and English. As someone who has balanced demanding subjects with extracurricular commitments, she is well placed to guide primary and high school students in time management, exam preparation and building academic confidence.

Leadership, Coaching and Youth Engagement

Hollie brings real leadership experience that translates directly into tutoring. She has led her school badminton team, served as cross country captain and coordinated fundraising activities, giving her plenty of practice motivating younger students and working with different personalities. She has also helped organise youth activities at her church, planning sessions and supporting children in group settings. This background means she is calm, patient and able to keep students engaged, whether they need gentle encouragement or a bit of friendly challenge.

Creative, Organised and Multilingual Support

Alongside her academic strengths, Hollie has a creative streak, having been part of her school’s senior choir and musical production, where she contributed to set design and backstage coordination. She uses this creativity to explain tricky concepts in visual and practical ways, especially helpful for younger learners. Organised and detail-focused, she prepares structured lesson plans while staying flexible to each child’s needs. Hollie speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin, which can be especially reassuring for families who value bilingual communication at home.
