What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from feeling unsure or overwhelmed to actually understanding and feeling confident in themselves. It’s really rewarding to be part of that shift, especially in subjects like Maths where many students start off thinking they “just aren’t good at it.†I also enjoy building connections with students and creating a comfortable environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think one of my main strengths is my ability to explain concepts simply and in a relatable way. I try to break things down and adapt my approach depending on how each student learns best. I’m also patient and encouraging, which helps students feel more at ease. Alongside that, I’m organised and consistent, so I make sure sessions are structured but still engaging.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student’s confidence alongside their understanding. It’s not just about getting the right answer; it's about helping them believe they can get there themselves. Creating a supportive, non-judgmental space is really important, as is adaptability and attention to each student's needs. A good tutor should also encourage independent thinking so the student doesn’t become reliant on help.

About Anshi

Maths-Savvy Tutor with Strong Academic Foundations

Anshi is studying Biomedical and Health Sciences, giving her a solid grounding in maths and science that she brings into every lesson. She has experience tutoring primary students in maths, where she breaks down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps. This tutor focuses on building strong number sense and problem-solving skills rather than rote learning, helping students gain real confidence. Her own study habits and understanding of how students learn mean she can quickly spot gaps and tailor explanations to each child.

Experienced Mentor and Student Leader

Beyond tutoring, Anshi has a strong background in student leadership and wellbeing support. As a member of a student wellbeing advisory group and a peer guide at university, she regularly listens to students’ concerns, answers questions, and directs them to the right support. This experience helps her create a calm, reassuring environment where school-aged students feel comfortable asking questions. She also has a history of leading student committees, which has sharpened her communication, organisation, and ability to keep young people engaged and on track.

Engaging, Multilingual Communicator with a Creative Side

Anshi speaks several languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, and Marwari, which helps her connect with students from diverse backgrounds and explain ideas in ways that make sense to them. As president of dance and music clubs, she has planned workshops and performances, learning how to make activities fun, structured, and inclusive. She often draws on real-life examples, rhythm, and patterns to make maths feel more intuitive. Parents can expect a tutor who is warm, organised, and able to keep sessions lively while still focused on clear learning goals.
