What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing students grow in confidence and understanding. It’s really rewarding when a student goes from feeling unsure about a topic to being able to solve problems independently. I also enjoy building a positive connection with students and making learning engaging and meaningful for them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths include patience, clear communication, and adaptability. I can explain concepts in simple ways and adjust my teaching style based on the student’s learning needs. I’m also supportive and encouraging, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions and staying motivated.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do are to build the student’s confidence, create a supportive learning environment, and tailor lessons to their individual needs. A tutor should also encourage critical thinking, provide constructive feedback, and help students develop independent learning skills.

About Rojlin

Emerging Secondary Teacher with Strong Literacy and Numeracy Focus

Rojlin is a pre-service secondary teacher currently completing a Master of Teaching, with focused study in curriculum and assessment, literacy and numeracy in education, and child development. This tutor understands how students think and learn, and uses that knowledge to break concepts into clear, manageable steps. With experience aligning learning activities to the Australian Curriculum, she can support primary and high school students to strengthen core skills in Maths and English while keeping school requirements firmly in view.

Hands-On Classroom Support and One-to-One Assistance

Through her work as a volunteer classroom assistant, this tutor has spent many hours supporting students who need extra help with reading and writing. She has helped prepare targeted learning materials, sat beside students to guide them through tricky tasks, and reinforced key skills in small-group settings. This practical classroom experience means she can quickly spot where a student is getting stuck and adjust explanations or examples on the spot to rebuild confidence.

Encouraging Mentor Who Builds Confidence and Independence

Beyond school classrooms, Rojlin has mentored first-year university students in introductory computer science, running weekly group study sessions that helped reduce fail rates. She brings that same patient, step-by-step mentoring style to younger learners, encouraging questions and modelling how to tackle challenging problems independently. Parents can expect a tutor who is organised, calm and approachable, using a mix of guided practice, discussion and simple strategies students can use on their own between sessions.
