Emma is a high-achieving Biomedicine graduate now studying Medicine, with a strong background in senior school science and maths through the International Baccalaureate. She has privately tutored both senior school and university students, so she understands curriculum demands and how to break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps. Having recently been through high-stakes exams herself, she is very aware of stress, time pressure and study load, and helps students build confidence with practical strategies, not just content revision.
Through her Honours research project, Emma designed surveys, conducted interviews, ran statistics and turned a thesis into a journal-style article. This experience means she can teach students how to plan assignments, structure essays and use evidence logically in their writing. She focuses on building critical thinking and clear written expression in English-heavy subjects, showing students how to move from βI kind of get itβ to well-argued answers. Her attention to detail and planning skills help students stay organised across multiple subjects.
Emma has held multiple school captaincy roles in sailing, music and her house, giving her plenty of experience leading and encouraging younger students. She brings that same calm, friendly leadership into tutoring sessions, whether helping a primary student master fractions or guiding a high schooler through exam preparation. Outside study, she loves caring for her very old, very cheeky dog, which often gives her great analogies for patience and persistence. This tutor creates a relaxed, respectful environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying again.
