What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping others and would love to help students develop an understanding of a subject area and achieve their goals. Sometimes offering new perspectives and approaches can make a topic more interesting, which can encourage an appreciation for the topic. I also think that it would be very rewarding to see a student gain confidence in their ability to learn and understand a topic, and grow as an individual.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I believe that my strengths as a tutor are that I am encouraging, patient, and that I value understanding over pure memorisation. Encouraging students reminds them to have confidence in themselves, and their ability to learn. Having once been the student being tutored, I also understand the importance of being adaptable in the explanations that I give. Not everyone learns in the same way, and so adapting explanations to suit students’ preferred method of learning can help them learn more quickly and efficiently, and understand a topic more deeply.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The most important thing a tutor can do is create a safe and engaging environment where the student is supported in achieving their goals. Developing trust with the student allows them to ask questions, communicate the areas/topics they would like to work on, and gain confidence in both the subject area and themselves. I believe that giving each student a personalised experience by tailoring explanations to their preferred way of learning will allow them to develop a deeper and more rounded understanding of the topic.
