What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student go from not understanding something to just starting to grasp it. That moment when something clicks for them is genuinely rewarding, especially when it’s something they previously struggled with. I also enjoy the process of figuring out how each student learns best. Being able to adapt my approach and find a method that works for them makes the whole experience more engaging, both for the student and me. Overall, I find it fulfilling to not only help students improve academically but also build their confidence in their own abilities.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe one of my main strengths as a tutor is my ability to gauge a student’s capabilities and adjust my approach accordingly. I try different methods to see what works best, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and tailoring how I teach to suit them. Moreover, the way I speak is strong and direct, which I know helps minimise ambiguity. My previous students have found my explanations clear and easy to follow, allowing them to understand concepts without confusion, and many have seen improvements of around 20–30% in their grades as a result.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

In middle school, I wasn’t a particularly bright student, and I needed the help of tutoring to catch up with my grade level. After trying various teachers and tutors, one of the most impactful things I learnt was how much of a leader a tutor needs to be. It’s all well if someone knows the subject material, but if they don’t understand how to command a student’s attention and aren’t confident in the way they explain topics and details, then their effectiveness is always limited.
