What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing a student develop and grow over time. Not just in terms of their ability in a subject but also their confidence and willingness to learn.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am a very open book and can gel and build strong connections with people/students easily. Additionally, due to my experience as a learn to swim instructor, I have developed skills in which I can alternate between having a conversation and being friendly with a student to being more serious and instructing them to swim/work

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to build further curiosity in that particular field or in some subject in general. To inspire a student into loving/ enjoying a subject is the hallmark of a good tutor

About Lucas

Engaging Maths Support from a High-Achieving Student

Lucas is a current commerce and engineering student who brings strong maths skills and a fresh understanding of the school curriculum. He has worked as a maths tutor with students across primary and lower high school, helping them break down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps. Lucas focuses on building solid foundations in number, algebra and problem-solving, so students feel more confident in class and better prepared for assessments.

Experienced Working with Children of All Abilities

Beyond maths tutoring, Lucas has taught children aged 4–13 as a learn-to-swim instructor, where he developed a calm, reassuring way of explaining new skills. This experience means he is comfortable managing different personalities and attention spans, and knows how to keep sessions structured yet fun. He is patient with anxious learners, uses lots of encouragement, and adapts his explanations to suit each child’s pace and learning style.

Clear Communicator Who Builds Confidence

Lucas draws on strong communication and leadership skills to create lessons that are friendly, organised and goal-focused. He likes to use real-life examples from sport, money and everyday problem-solving to show why maths matters, which helps students stay engaged. This tutor works with parents to understand current school expectations, then sets small, achievable targets so students can see their own progress and grow in confidence over time.
