What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I find it very rewarding seeing the growth and improvement of others through my guidance. Their successes feel as good to me as it does it does to them. Also meeting new people is very fun.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my strengths is that I’m very open-minded. I understand that not everybody learns at the same pace, in the same learning style. I will adjust and tailor how I teach and approach problems to each student, so it will be easier for them to understand.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Even if the student seems to give up on themselves, I will never give up on them. My biggest motivation for my studies was my determination to meet the expectations of the people who believed in me, invested in me, and taught me. While there were times I did let them down, they still believed I was capable of succeeding next time. Their faith in me made me try harder, so I will do the same for my student.

About Cindy

High-achieving maths student turned engineering tutor

Cindy is a high-performing maths student now studying mechanical engineering, making her well placed to support both primary and high school students. All through school she consistently ranked in the top group of her year and earned multiple academic awards, reflecting strong subject knowledge and disciplined study habits. She can help with everything from foundational numeracy to more advanced algebra and problem-solving, and she is skilled at breaking down complex ideas into clear, step-by-step explanations that students can actually follow.

Proven leadership and mentoring experience

As a former vice college captain and arts leader, this tutor has real experience guiding younger students and working closely with teachers. She has regularly supported peers with maths questions and assignment planning, and is comfortable explaining concepts in different ways until they click. Her background in student leadership means she knows how to encourage shy or unsure learners, set achievable goals, and keep students on track in a positive, structured way that parents can rely on.

Engaging, bilingual and relatable role model

Cindy brings a warm, down-to-earth style to her lessons, drawing on her experience in a school rock band and other extracurricular activities to connect with students who may not naturally love maths. As a native-level Japanese speaker, she is also well suited to supporting bilingual families or students interested in language alongside their maths. This tutor focuses on building confidence, helping students practise clear working, and sharing practical study techniques that she personally used to achieve consistently high results.
