What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to support students who might going through the same academic struggle I once faced. Having experienced that frustration myself, I understand how discouraging it can feel when concepts don't immediately click. That experience motivated me to volunteer as a tutor at my school, where I worked with students who needed extra support. Seeing their confidence grow once something finally makes sense is incredibly rewarding, and it's what made tutoring meaningful to me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my main strengths as a tutor is patience. I understand that everyone learns at a different pace, and having struggles with certain subjects myself in the past, I know how important it is to explain concepts in a way that actually makes sense to the students. I also focus on creating a comfortable environment where students feel safe asking questions without feeling judged. My goal is not just to help them understand the content, but also help them feel more confident in their own ability to learn
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is help them build confidence in their ability to learn. Many students struggle not just because the content is difficult, but because they start to believe they are not capable of understanding it. Therefore, a tutor's role is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, while also breaking down concepts clearly so students can gradually develop both understanding and confidence

Sofia demonstrated strong number fluency and was able to identify shapes quickly and confidently. Her retention skills were particularly strong, as she was able to grasp newly explained words and concepts almost immediately and recall them accurately afterwards. During a reading activity, she showed good decoding ability by breaking a large word into smaller parts to support pronounciation, and she also displayed awareness of silent letters within words.
Sofia currently relies heavily on phonetic spelling, where words are written based on how they sound. Although she is able to pronounce unfamiliar words successfully by dividing them into smaller parts, she still finds it challenging to consistently transfer those sound patterns into written spelling.
