What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with people and applying it to questions in a way that will help them. Seeing people finally understand a topic that seems so overwhelming provides me the most joy.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths as a tutor are being able to understand the student’s concerns, allowing me to explain and quickly adapt the concepts in a way they will be able to understand.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to work out their style of learning, may that be using analogies or diagrams, and showing them the same knowledge in a way that works for them. I believe an individual stylised method for learning results in the highest levels of success as we all learn differently.

About Ariana

High-achieving maths specialist with strong academic results

Ariana is a high-achieving engineering student who excelled in high school Mathematics Methods and physics, earning subject prizes and academic excellence awards with averages well above 70%. This strong grounding in senior maths means she can clearly explain concepts such as algebra, functions and problem-solving strategies to both primary and high school students. Her engineering studies further strengthen her logical thinking, helping her break down complex ideas into simple, step-by-step explanations that build confidence over time.

Clear communicator who connects well with students

Through her customer-facing work and school leadership experiences, Ariana has developed excellent communication and organisational skills. She is used to answering questions patiently, handling complaints calmly, and explaining information in a way that makes sense to people of different ages. In tutoring sessions, this translates into a friendly, approachable style where students feel comfortable asking “silly” questions, while still being gently challenged to think for themselves and explain their reasoning.

Structured, supportive approach to building skills and independence

Ariana’s experience managing her own architectural design project at work experience shows her ability to plan tasks, meet deadlines and pay attention to detail—all skills she brings into her tutoring. She likes to use past test questions, worked examples and mini “checkpoints” so students can see real progress. Ariana also draws on her own exam experience to teach practical study techniques, such as how to set out working clearly and avoid common mistakes, helping students become more independent and exam-ready.
