What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I didn't start tutoring in any official sense — it kind of just happened naturally in school. Friends would come to me when they were stuck on something, and I'd sit with them and try to explain it a different way until it made sense. I got genuinely hooked on that moment when it finally does — you can see it, the way they go from frustrated to "oh, okay, yeah." That's what made me want to do it more seriously. It never felt like a chore to me, it felt like a puzzle, figuring out what angle would work for that particular person.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'm patient, and I don't make people feel bad for not getting something straight away. I know what it's like to sit with a concept that isn't clicking, so I never treat confusion as the student's fault. I'm also pretty good at finding different ways to explain the same thing — if one approach isn't working, I'll try another. I don't just repeat myself and hope for the best.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Make them feel safe enough to say they don't understand. A lot of students already feel behind, and if they're scared of looking stupid they'll just nod along and fall further behind. So that comes first. Beyond that, I think the whole point is to build someone up to the point where they don't need you anymore — every session should leave them a bit more capable of working through things on their own.
