What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The thing that I enjoy the most about tutoring has to be when the student finally understand the concept and start to apply it to solve the practice questions. Especially if they struggled with it as you can often see the excitement within them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my main strength is that I also had tutoring when I was younger and struggled in school. I feel this allows me to better empathize with the student and understand where and how they might struggle. I feel this also in large part developed my teaching style of trying to walk the student through concept or the question.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think a tutor should in a sense hold the student accountable. For example a student might pick up a set of practice questions in their spare time and leave it mid way through but if that problem set was assigned by the tutor it gives the student far more reason to see the whole thing through. In this way we can provide (external) motivation to the student when their own motivation is low.

About Syed Ayaan

Mechanical engineering student and tutor

Hi, I am a mechanical engineering student who enjoys making math and physics practical, visual, and easy to grasp. I have always aimed for the top in my own studies, earning perfect 800s in SAT Math, 6s in IB Higher Level math and physics, and maintaining a distinction track at university. Because I am currently completing my degree, I know exactly what students are up against in today's classrooms. I am not a distant lecturer. I am a relatable mentor who knows how to achieve top marks and is ready to show your child how to do the same.

Transforming stress into confidence

My goal is to take the intimidation out of advanced STEM subjects. I do not believe in just memorizing formulas to scrape through the next exam. Instead, I want to help your child thoroughly understand the material so they can walk into the classroom feeling calm and capable. Whether they are trying to overcome a learning hurdle, preparing for high stakes exams like the IB or SAT, or pushing to reach the top of their class, I am dedicated to building their independence so they can tackle tough problems entirely on their own.

Practical logic and better study habits

I find that math and physics finally click when students see how they apply to the physical world. In our sessions, I break down abstract equations using real world mechanical examples. I teach a step by step framework for unpacking complex questions and show students how to catch and fix their own mistakes. By pairing a supportive, encouraging environment with highly effective study habits, we do not just solve the homework in front of us. We build the problem solving skills your child needs to succeed moving forward.
