What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
During highschool I found it really enjoying and rewarding to help my peers when they struggle on topics I had a better understanding of. I enjoy helping students go from feeling stuck to actually understanding a concept. Its rewarding to see their confidence grow and for them to realise they're capable of doing the work on their own.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Im patient and good at breaking down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I also adapt my explanations depending on the student, because I know everyone learns differently. For example instead of teaching the student a fixed way of approaching a question, I would try and make real life comparisons to make it intuitive, and I would try and figure out what exact area of knowledge he is lacking that is causing him to get stuck.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important things are building a students confidence, making concepts clear, and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions. Long term, a tutor should help students become more independent in their learning.

About Zhi
My teaching style
I like to explain concepts in a clear and simple way, while adapting to how each student learns best. Instead of just showing students the answer, I try to guide them through the thinking process and slowly build up their confidence.
Subjects I can help
I am confident tutoring mathematics and economics. I can help students with homework, exam preparation, understanding difficult topics, and building stronger study habits.
Why I tutor
I enjoy tutoring because it is rewarding to see students become more confident and independent. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.

Lizzie demonstrated a strong understanding of most Chapter 3 concepts and was able to solve the majority of questions after giving a few hints. She showed good reasoning skills and confidence when working through area, and volume.
Lizzie should continue working on identifying which formula is required for different question types and memorising key formulas. She should also focus on checking her work carefully to minimise simple calculation and transcription errors. She should try and write out her thought process more when attempting harder questions, and just have a more complete working out in general so that it would be easy for her to double check her answers.

Quickly understood and applied the index law concepts taught during the lesson. Demonstrated strong ability to use area and volume formulas correctly when the appropriate formula was identified. Worked efficiently through practice exam questions and showed good problem solving skills.
Further practice is needed with fraction operations, particularly addition and simplification. Continue developing confidence with index multiplication rules and becoming more familiar with common area and volume formulas so they can be selected independently when solving problems.

Strong understanding of financial mathematics, particularly calculating payments although the test did not cover simple interest and compound interest. Measurement skills were also solid overall. Lizzie was generally able to identify correct answers and demonstrated good problem-solving ability throughout the practice paper.
Needs further practice and confidence in algebra and statistics, particularly with equations such as y = mx + b which is really important in standard math, as well as ratio concepts. Confidence in writing out full working and explanations should also continue to improve, as she often had the correct answer but hesitated to fully express it.
