What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As an extrovert I love interacting with others on a day to day basis, and on top of that tutoring gives me the opportunity to give the learning experience that I once had as a child and am grateful for. I would like to teach children to be more confident in their skills and set them up for future success. Lastly one of my favourite things about tutoring other children, as in my experience with tutoring kids myself and my peers is the ability to consolidate my own knowledge, making me better at a subject and making me a better teacher as a result.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have the ability to approach concepts from various methods, for example most mathematical concepts I can approach from a visual perspective, algebraic perspective, brute force counting perspective and real life analogies. As a young person I can still relate and recall my doubts and feelings when learning a particular concept and hence I can recall those memories and try and tailor my teaching methods to a kid in a particular age.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must be considerate about a child's limitations and strengths and these qualities are vastly different between every individual child. One child may understand math while another child may be more humanities oriented. Understanding this, a teacher can understand a child's boundaries and understand how to microdose information in a manner which the child does not feel uncomfortable learning. Additionally as I mentioned before it helps tailor learning methodology to kids, for example when teaching math to a humanities oriented kid, using historical facts of math may help.
