What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In tutoring, helping people understand difficult concepts and working to achieve their goals feels very rewarding for me, as I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and seeing them improve. Tutoring is also fun sometimes, as I can communicate with the students, ask what they want to improve on and continue from there.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My attitude towards students is always very encouraging and supportive. I always try my best to teach the students in a polite manner because, as a student myself, I always hated the grumpy teachers. Besides, my academic skills are very decent, and because I’ve done an academically rigorous course like IB, I know the tricks and tips to succeed in these subjects from a student's lens, which is an incredible strength as a tutor, especially compared to tutors who may not have had my experience.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing is to make sure the student fully understands the knowledge, being able to use it in any situation, while enjoying the learning. It is when the student fully engages in their learning experience that the outcome can be fully maximised. I wish this upon all students, and I would love to be the mentor who guides them through the process. About Cynthia
High-achieving IB student who “gets” the school system
Cynthia is a high-performing International Baccalaureate graduate with an overall score in the low 40s and more than 90% in advanced Mathematics. She also achieved top marks in Physics, Mandarin and strong results in English and Economics essays, so she understands both quantitative and written assessment styles. As a current university student, she relates closely to what primary and high school students are going through and explains concepts from a student’s point of view, making learning clearer and less intimidating.
Hands-on teaching experience with younger students
This tutor has already designed and run art-based learning sessions for primary-aged children as part of a community project. She planned lessons, guided students step by step, and helped them prepare work for a public exhibition, building their confidence as well as their skills. This experience means she is comfortable managing groups, breaking down instructions, and adjusting explanations for different ages and abilities—ideal for supporting both primary and early high school learners in Maths and English.

As chairperson of a large school cultural club, Cynthia led weekly activity sessions for more than 60 senior students, using games, food and cultural events to make language and culture engaging. She organised fundraising stalls and promoted activities across year levels, sharpening her communication and organisation skills.
